Professor J. M. Ten Cate

Professor of Department of Cariology, Endontology and Pedontology, and Experimental Preventive Dentistry.
Professor Cate brings a distinguished portfolio to Fluorinex Active:Associate Editor European Journal for Oral Sciences; Pro-Rector Universiteit van Amsterdam; Consultant to the Council on Scientific Affairs 2000-2001 (American Dental Association); Board member of the Continental European Division of the International Organization for Dental Research; Member Editorial Board Journal of Dental Research IADR/AADR - Publication Committee; Member Board of Associate Editors Odontology, Department of Cariology, Endodontology, Pedodontology, and more.
His expertise is in the understanding of processes occurring within the oral cavity which lead to dental caries. He employs physico-chemical and microbiological techniques.

 

Prof. Eli E. Machtei

Prof. Machtei is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel. He is currently the chairman of the Department of Oral and Dental Medicine at the Rambam Health Care Campus.
He received his D.M.D. from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem (1979), and completed his advanced graduate studies in Periodontology at Boston University. In 1982, upon completion of his studies, he joined the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hebrew University at the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem. In 1989, he joined the Periodontal Research Center - Department of Oral Biology, at the State University of New York as a Visiting Associate Professor. In 1991 he returned to the Hebrew University, but maintained a part-time faculty position at SUNY Buffalo as an associate Professor. In 1994 he moved to the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, to head the Unit of Periodontology.
Eli Machtei serves on the Editorial board of the Journal of Periodontology, and is also a reviewer for the Journal of Dental Research and the Journal of Clinical Periodontology. He is a member of the AAP, IADR and EFP and is the past president of the Israeli Periodontal Society.
He has published more than 200 papers, chapters and abstracts in refereed journals. For his research he won the R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award of the American Academy of Periodontology (1995) and the Halperin award for excellence in Maxillofacial research (2002 and 2006).
